New Image of Hedong: One City, One Park, One Belt & Two Areas

Hedong District is embarking on building a “cultural and tourism district” right now. The district is taking the opportunity of Shandong Province Cultural Tourism Industry Conference to showcase its strength with the highlight in Tangtou Hot Spring Tourist Resort which is a national tourist resort. A riverside ecological and cultural corridor of “one city, one park, one belt and two major areas” is under construction. The corridor will give full play to the leading role of Langya Ancient Town and Longyuan Tourist Area, optimizing the cultural belt on the east bank of Yihe River and the hot spring leisure area.

Meanwhile, the district has launched new tourism projects such as Longyuan Starry Sky Camping, Guantang Wenshui Long Street Banquet, Jinsha Bay Camping, and Lichen Farm Camping Base. Taking brand-building as the starting point, the district actively promotes local cultural features as tourist attractions. Tradition is mingled with modern leisure, creating a unique vacation pattern which is very much beloved.

Visitors are welcome to Langya Ancient Town to watch the big show of “Langya Beauty”, to Tangquan Resort to enjoy the hot springs, or to the related district bases to watch Liuqin operas and other drama performances. During this year’s May First holiday time, the cultural and tourism market in Hedong District was booming, receiving a total of 618,000 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 47.1%. The district achieved a comprehensive tourism income of 360 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 71.4%.
