Langya Ancient City is the only scenic spot in Shandong Province with the so-called six-sense experiential tourism performances. Belonging to Hedong District of Linyi City, Langya Ancient City innovatively integrates the symbols of Langya culture in performances with the support of technology like immersive experience and more. The carefully created three-dimensional panoramic picture scroll is fascinating for tourists.
As the main venue for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Shandong Province Cultural Tourism Industry Conference, Langya Ancient City held a large-scale indoor performance called “State Show-Langya” about the thousand-year-old history and culture in Linyi. The performance used multi-space three-dimensional scenes as well as the folding skylight technology to immerse the audience in a real experience of vision, smell, sound and more. The ancient Dongyi culture to today’s Langya is presented in the show, treating the audience to an artistic feast of “A thousand years of Langya changing into today’s Yizhou in its prosperous times”.
The new image of “Quality Hedong” aims at upgrading and enriching the leisure system of the vacation products. Rural tourism is being rigorously developed. Local cultural creation and performances, RV camping plus immersive experience are a few of its focus. The implementation of Heilong Ice and Snow World, Tuyuan Rural Tourism, night tourism and B&B projects are also on the way.
In 2023, Hedong District received a total of 7.05 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 61.5%. With a comprehensive tourism income of 5 billion yuan, it realized a year-on-year increase of 76.2%. The district sees the advantages of cultural enterprises and is optimizing development layout and quality with Jiahua Electronics as the main player. Presently, an industry system for the sake of cultural tourism with unique Hedong characteristics is being built. A large number of cultural tourism boutique projects are being promoted. Hedong District is gradually becoming the “living room” of Linyi’s central urban area and the “back garden” for leisure and tourism along the Yangtze River Delta.
