2024 “FIVB Volleyball Men’s Challenger Cup” Was Held in Linyi

On7. July, the final match of Chaoxi/Yaoling Shandong 2024  “FIVB Volleyball Men’s Challenger Cup” was held at Linyi Olympic Sports Park Stadium. The Chinese team won the championship by defeating the Belgian team with 3:1. 

It is reported that the event lasted for 4 days and a total of 8 teams participated, namely the host China plus Ukraine, Belgium, Egypt, Qatar, Croatia, Chile and Mexico.

The Chinese team won three games in a row during the competition, resulting in winning the championship and succeeding in qualifying for the 2025 World Men’s Volleyball League. The Belgian team won the runner-up and the Egyptian team won the third place.

It is the first international championship carried out in Linyi, offering an opportunity for Linyi to appear on the world stage and to be motivated to building itself into a “sports metropolis”. Linyi is making plans to continue integrating sports with its urban culture and tourism, to create a more diversified city image of sports + social life and the corresponding consumer culture. The city believes in the vitality of sports in stimulating its economy and injecting new impetus into its high-standard development.
