On July 24, the International Seminar on jointly building the “Belt and Road” was held in Linyi City, Shandong Province.
Proposed in 2013, the “Belt and Road” has been a great international economic cooperation initiative. Participating countries have achieved fruitful results in infrastructure construction, industrial investment, green and low-carbon development, digital economy and health, laying a solid foundation for future industrial cooperation and development.
Located in the southeast of Shandong Province. Linyi has a long history and cultural tradition. It is rich in natural resources and strong in development momentum. In the past years, it has cultivated China’s largest market cluster and built a logistics network that “trades all over the world”. It has also set up a global commodity exhibition and sales platform with convenient and efficient transportation network so as to form a powerful engine for industrial and commercial linkage. An open platform with overlapping functions, Linyi has thus nurtured a vibrant private economy, and created a world-class business environment.
This seminar is of great significance for deepening international exchanges on the “Belt and Road” and for promoting common development among the participating countries. Drawing on successful experiences, Linyi aims at gathering production power to create a strategic node city for the “Belt and Road” initiative.
The seminar was held in the form of a combination of discussion and field research. After the opening ceremony with exchange, discussion and summary speeches on July 24, the Linyi Mall Internationalization Promotion Conference was held the next day of July 25, focusing on field research conducted in some important industrial parks and projects in the city. A dozen foreign envoys to China, 2 UN organizations, and representatives from enterprises, hospitals, colleges and universities participated in the event.
