Two Waters and One City: A New Pattern of Tourism in Hedong, Linyi

Recently, the signing ceremony of tourism projects was held in Linyi City at the Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference. The successful hosting promoted high-quality development of the cultural tourism industry. “Hospitality in Shandong · Passion in Hedong” became the eye-catching business card of Hedong District in Linyi, aiming at accelerating the new tourism pattern around the “two waters and one city” design in the region.

Hedong District is an important part of Linyi Central City. In order to strengthen the cultural tourism projects, the district focuses on the hot springs of Tangquan Tourism Resort, the “city flower” Yizhou Begonia of Tanghe Town, and the re-construction of the ancient town Langya. A new pattern of “two waters, one city, three columns” is gradually surfacing for the tourism there. Meanwhile, Langya Ancient Town has achieved a lot as the scenic area with its main venue for the opening ceremony of the High-quality Development Conference of Shandong Province concerning the cultural tourism industry in 2024. The Ancient Town has shown its panoramic scroll of the ancient Langya with an immersive method, winning very high social attention and immense praise. Its operating revenue has exceeded 100 million yuan.

Hedong District has also successfully combined  “going global” and “welcome” tourism culture. Using its own resource advantages as well as actively connecting with well-known tourism enterprises home and abroad, it is injecting strong market vitality into the high-quality development of cultural tourism in the district. At the signing ceremony, the district signed a total of 31 projects with a total investment of 6.239 billion yuan.
