At the recently opened International Photography Season in Shandong Province focusing on “Opportunity China · Vitality Shandong”, the handmade flower pancakes, a local specialty handicraft from Linyi, caught the attention of many international photographers.
Crowds gathered at the display area of the Linyi Flower Pancakes. Photographers stopped by and raised their cameras, marveling at the unique artform. As a traditional food in Yimeng Mountain area, flower pancakes give the fragrance of the flower ingredient while retaining the original deliciousness of flour pancakes. The ornamental beauty together with the taste is highly valued.
On-site staff introduced the production process of flower pancakes to the international photographers around. These pancakes use fruit and vegetable juice from celery, carrots, dragon fruit and more to dye the pancakes with different natural colors. About 50 flavors of such pancakes have been developed. There are more than a dozen flower types such as peony, roses, and peach blossoms involved in the production to meet consumers’ different taste as well as the aesthetic needs.
Tasting the flower pancakes at the event, the photographers expressed their amazement: The pancakes are crispy and sweet with the touch of fresh taste from the juice of the flowers, fruits and vegetables. A gourmet wonder, they said.
The appearance of the flower pancakes at the International Photography Season of “Opportunity China · Vitality Shandong” brought the unique charm of Shandong’s traditional culture to the public, an excellent opportunity for the international photographers to understand, record and pass Shandong’s stories to more people and new places.
