In recent years, Tangquan in Hedong District of Linyi has developed a variety of ideas on innovation concerning public service system and tourism. The area has been following an empowerment model with different businesses, a so-called “hot springs+” integration project which has rejuvenated the thousand-year-old hot springs there.
The business model combines the current situation in Tangtou town and the innovational concept of “traveling and living as one, guest and host as one”, thus integrating the residential community into the resort business. Tangquan is aiming at building the “City of China (Linyi) Hot Spring Culture and Health Tourism”. It is promoting a jigsaw of integrating city, town and village as a whole community to better present the local culture.
The idea of “Fast Travel, Slow Tour” solves the traffic problem in traveling. To improve the travelling routes, Tangquan has invested 1.27 billion yuan to build and renovate 15 urban roads plus greening zones. Menawhile, another new tourist bus special line is added. 5 existing bus lines have improved their facilities, thus linking 28 villages with tourism demands, including hotels and rehabilitation nursing institutions.
Another 690 million yuan has been invested by Tangquan to implement a number of basic projects such as drainage, sewage treatment, gas pipe network, and hot spring well drilling. Tanghe Binghe Park, Zhichun Lake Leisure Plaza, Mingshi Hot Spring Lanyue Park and more are now all popular spots for the locals to do morning exercises. The series of measures have brought fruitful results. From January to June 2024, around 1.7 million tourists have been received there, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%, which brought a revenue of 923 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.74%.
